Michael Schostak Files for Re-Election as Bloomfield Township Trustee

Bloomfield Township, Mich., April 21, 2020 — Michael Schostak today announced that he has filed for re-election as Bloomfield Township Trustee. Schostak is a Republican and will face other Republican candidates in the primary election on Tuesday August 4, 2020. The top four Republican candidates will move on to the general election on Tuesday November 3, 2020.

In launching his re-election bid Schostak said: “I am proud of my accomplishments as a member of the Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees for the past four years. My goal in running for the board was to bring a fresh voice and innovative leadership drawing on lessons learned from my career in both the public and private sectors. Whether digging into the budget, assessing special land use applications, approving public works projects, or working with our state legislators to promote township interests, I have always approached my trustee work with a strong sense of purpose and determination.”

While serving on the board of trustees, Schostak was appointed to lead the water resources stakeholder task force and the compensation and staffing study committee. He also serves as an alternate on the election commission and as board liaison to the Bloomfield cable commission.

Schostak, 41, has been a resident of Bloomfield Township for thirteen years since moving back home from New York City. While in New York he was a technology investment banker at Lehman Brothers specializing in mergers & acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Prior to Lehman, Schostak lived in Washington, D.C. serving as a consultant in Booz Allen Hamilton’s economic & business analysis team where he worked with federal government clients, including the military and intelligence communities.

“I appreciate the support of my fellow Bloomfield residents who placed their trust in me for these past four years, and I hope to earn their vote to keep me as their representative for another four years,” Schostak said.

ABOUT MICHAEL SCHOSTAK

Michael Schostak was elected to the Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees in November 2016. He has since been appointed as the Trustee representative on the Compensation & Staffing Study Committee, the Water Resources Stakeholders task force, the Cable Commission, and is an alternate member of the Bloomfield Township Election Commission.

Michael is a father to two young children, and is managing member of Schostak Capital Advisors, working with small and medium-sized businesses around the country in the areas of business strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate finance. Michael is formerly a Lecturer of Finance in the Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University, where he taught courses in financial modeling and corporate valuation.

Michael’s prior professional experience spans a wide variety of financial roles, including capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, corporate financial planning & analysis, and investor relations. Michael began his career at Booz Allen Hamilton consulting for the U.S. military and intelligence communities on matters of economic policy, financial analysis, resource planning, and capital budgeting.

Michael is a proud alumnus of both Hillel Day School and Cranbrook Schools. He earned his B.S. in Economics with concentrations in Finance, Management, and Real Estate from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his M.B.A. from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
